I was just leaving our apartment complex, when I noticed one of the staff members walking to the flagstaff that is located at the entrance of the complex. I saw her beginning to lower the Star and Stripes. I started walking again towards my car, when I stopped. I turned around and looked again at the American flag…at half mast. I realized then, that today, is the 25th Anniversary of the 9/11 Terrorists attacks on New York City; the Pentagon in Washington D.C; and in Shanksville, PA. Nearly 3,000 persons were killed that day.

I was saddened over the memory what had occurred on that day; and angry with myself for having forgotten about that tragedy. I pray that I will be aware of those who tragically loose loved ones. And at the very least, keep them in my prayers.

Eternal rest grant unto them, Lord, and let your light perpetual shine upon them all. Through the mercy of God, may they rest in peace.

Give comfort to those who lost their loved ones, and give them peace.
